Kindergarten/TK Registration

Registration packets for grades TK-5 are available in the school office as well as at the district office. Along with the completed registration packet, you will need to bring:

  • complete immunization record
  • birth certificate
  • proof of residency*
(utility bill, pay stub, or correspondence from a government agency [federal, state or county government, DMV, voting agency, etc]).                                                                *If you and your children live with another family, please provide a letter from the homeowner stating that you and your children live with them, as well as a copy of the homeowner's proof of residency as noted above.

All students should register at their home school, regardless of whether they have applied for an inter- or intra-district transfer.

Kindergarten Age Requirement: The kindergarten age cutoff for 2016-2017 is September 1st. Children must turn 5 on or before September 1st to be enrolled in kindergarten for the 2016-2017 school year.

TK Age Requirement: If a student turns 5 on or between September 2 and December 2, they can register for TK. Intra- and Inter-district transfer polices apply to students in grades TK-5. If the child turns 5 after the December 2 cut-off, but before the start of the 3rd trimester, they can be enrolled on or after their birthday, on a space available basis only as TK is not mandatory (ECSection 48200).The CA two year waiver form would need to be signed.

TK Age Exception: If a student turns 5 on or between July 1 and August 31, they may attend TK if the parent/guardian requests such a placement. This would only be the case for those parents/guardians who do not believe their child is ready for kindergarten, but turn 5 on or between July 1 and August 31. Parents/guardians are required to sign the Two Year Kindergarten Waiver Form which is available in the school office.
